Job description

REMD Biotherapeutics is seeking exceptionally motivated scientists with strong background and proven track records in molecular and cellular biology to join our Drug Discovery team located in Camarillo, CA. The successful candidate will join a growing team working in a fast-paced research and business environment with open opportunities for training, increased responsibility and career development.

Responsibilities

·         Design and perform cutting-edge research that utilizes genetic engineering to create novel therapeutic proteins and the cell-based assays needed to assess their biological activity

·         Work independently and collaboratively to develop and execute novel physical and biological assays required to evaluate new antibody-derived therapeutic proteins

·         Organize, analyze and present complex data generated on novel proteins in a scientifically rigorous manner for the purpose of advancing clinical candidates

·         Identification, negotiation and management of contracts with biomedical research providers

·         Contribute to and maintain general laboratory infrastructure and processes

Basic Qualifications

·         Undergraduate and or graduate training in biological research incorporating molecule and cellular biology

·         Doctorate degree, or Master’s degree with 2-4 yr post graduate biomedical research experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus at about 5 yr biotechnology work experience

Preferred Qualifications

·         Advanced degree in Cell or Molecular Biology or a highly related field directly incorporating these particular disciplines including a strong understanding of receptor biology, signal transduction and protein structure (antibodies in particular)

·         Direct hands-on laboratory experience with recombinant DNA technology, mammalian cell-culture and gene expression, protein expression and purification, FACSCAN, protein binding and blocking assays (ELISA, Biacore, Octet), cell-based functional and growth assays (IC50, EC50)

·         Able to utilize public repositories and data bases (NCBI, PubMed, Ensembl, Swissprot, etc.) and other to download and assemble new gene sequences

·         Familiarity with common biomedical research software and analysis tools (GraphPad PRIZM, Vector NTI, Excel) and presentation tools (Word, PowerPoint)

·         Track record of work ethic, problem solving, and critical data analysis skills, and productivity and demonstrated by scientific publications, abstracts, or patents.

·         Fluency in Chinese would be helpful, but it is not critical

Job description (ID: REMD RS Position 2)

REMD Biotherapeutics is seeking an exceptionally motivated Associate Scientist with strong academic background in molecular and cellular biology to join our Drug Discovery team located in Camarillo, CA. The successful candidate will join a growing team working in a fast-paced research and business environment with open opportunities for training, increased responsibility and career development. The position is open to entry level biotechnology candidates with significant undergraduate laboratory research experience.

Responsibilities

·         Perform cutting-edge research that utilizes genetic engineering to create novel therapeutic proteins and the cell-based assays needed to assess their biological activity

·         Work independently with supervision to develop and execute novel physical and biological assays required to evaluate new antibody-derived therapeutic proteins

·         Organize, analyze and present assay data generated on novel proteins in a scientifically rigorous manner

·         Contribute to and maintain general laboratory infrastructure and processes

Basic Qualifications

·         Undergraduate degree in biological research incorporating in depth training in molecule and cellular biology

·         Evidence of independent laboratory research including cell culture performed as an undergraduate researcher in an academic or industry intern

Preferred Qualifications

·         BA/BS degree in Cell or Molecular Biology or a highly related field directly incorporating these disciplines including a strong understanding of receptor biology, signal transduction and protein structure (antibodies in particular)

·         Direct hands-on laboratory experience with basic molecular and cell biology techniques including recombinant DNA technology, mammalian cell-culture and cell-based biological assays

·         Familiarity with common biomedical research software and analysis tools (Excel, GraphPad PRIZM, DNA analysis software) and presentation tools (Word, PowerPoint)

·         Track record of work ethic, problem solving, and critical data analysis skills, and productivity and demonstrated by scientific publications, abstracts, or patents.

·         Fluency in Chinese would be helpful, but it is not critical
